Seasons

I just got myself a snazzy new laptop and of course, with this purchase, I did a lot of file moving. With this file moving, I figured I had better go through my pictures and made the discovery I had more than I thought (3,247 to be exact, after deleting 2,000+) and this is only a fraction of the rest I have saved elsewhere.
Anyway, I have been trying to get pictures of this railroad in all four seasons (yes, I am missing summer, the ticks are terrible right now and I've been lazy.) As I looked them over I made a realization. These pictures represent the changing of seasons in the earth, but they also represent the changing of seasons in our lives. We have seasons of plenty and seasons of little, seasons of joy and seasons of sorrow, seasons of "easy" and seasons of difficulty. It can be hard to find the beauty in every season but it is always there because God is always there. Notice that each picture is different with a different viewpoint, but one thing remains solid throughout them all. The railroad tracks.
Recently, over the last few months I have had struggled with many doubts about my future and changes in my habits. This leading to fear about what is to come or what people think. While it should not matter, it is not so easy to just dismiss. It's at these moments when God sends me the "slap in the face" reminders. The most recent one being, HE HAS NOT CHANGED. In the midst of my doubts, fears, and changes, He remains the same. He is faithful, He is True, He is loving, kind, Holy and just. He is still in control over everything. He is True north, the ever-present, solid foundation in my life and yours. Similar to that of the railroad tracks, the same in every picture, heading in the same direction, and sturdy. But unlike the railroad tracks, God will never fade. He will not get rusty or become unstable.
Whatever season of life you may find yourself in, please know that God is the same and an ever-present help in your life (see Hebrews 13:8, Psalm 46:1). It may not be easy, but if you will trust Him in everything, the results will be worth it.
