The Little Things

The little things God uses in life to get your attention are very random, come when you least expect it, and in my case, leave me in awe of who He is. Tonight, it was 2, two dollar bills I recently acquired. One of them is from 1995 and the other 2009. The older one shows quite a bit of wear and tear, it is also faded in spots. The younger one is newer, it is not really faded and has minor wear on it. And it came to my mind how similar these bills represent life and who God is. I am like that old 2 dollar bill. I am a sinner and I have done things I am not proud of. I have walked through hard times and it has left marks, reminders I cannot escape from. But God doesn't see me or you that way. He sees beauty in our ashes.

He sees us through His son, Jesus. He sees us as perfect, similar to that of the younger 2 dollar bill. And then, another thing hit me. When I look at a dollar bill, I can't see through it, I only see the details on the front, or the back pending which way I am holding it. But, if I take that same bill and hold it to the light, I see things I could not see before. A reminder that if I look to the The Light, He will make known that which He wants me to see. And not only that, but it is a reminder that Jesus sees me. Through all that wear and tear and sin, He sees His creation. His beautiful masterpiece in the making. I may not ever understand the point of everything I face, but I take hope in this fact: no matter what, Jesus sees me, loves me, and is with me even though____(fill in the blank).
